What makes these 4 ingredients so great?
Bananas are a good source if vitamin B6, which can increase serotonin and calm the body.
Spinach is a good source of of folate (low levels of folate are often associated with depression).
Oats are high in fiber to slow digestion of carbs and keep your energy levels stable.
Plant-based milk is high in protein and healthy fats to slow digestion of carbs (just be sure to choose unsweetened!).
If you’re someone who keeps ripe bananas in the freezer, use a frozen banana in this recipe. If not, add a few ice cubes to your blender to keep this mood boosting smoothie cold.

Mood Boosting Smoothie
This mood boosting smoothie is great for breakfast, or as a pre-workout or mid-afternoon snack.
Ingredients
- unsweetened plant-based milk - 1 cup
- baby spinach - 1 handful
- Gluten free old fashioned oats - 1/2 cup
- banana - 1 medium
- Raw honey - to taste, optional
Instructions
- Add plant-based milk to blender, then add spinach. Next add oats and banana. Blend until smooth.
- Add a few ice cubes to make it colder. Add raw honey to sweeten, if using. Blend and serve.
