One of our close friends is from Greece. Whenever we finish dinner at his house he makes us tea and adds a sprinkle of dried fennel seeds to the mug. Fennel, used in several Greek after-dinner drinks, such as Ouzo (Greece’s prized anise-flavored liquor), aids in digestion. While I ‘m not a fan of black licorice, I love the mild warming taste of fennel seeds in tea. I now add the seeds to my evening cup of chamomile tea most night. It’s a nice, relaxing way to end an evening. Next time you serve tea after dinner, offer to add a few fennel seeds.
